Alphabet has acknowledged the competitive threat, with former Google Gemini head Sissie Hsiao confirming ChatGPT's displacement of certain search queries—particularly in education-related use cases.
Google's ad chief Vidhya Srinivasan warns that losing commercial searches to AI tools is "inevitable," posing existential risks to the company's ad-driven revenue model. The shift could destabilize Google's Core business, where search ads contribute the majority of its $300 billion annual revenue.
